We are planning a fully packed week so not much time for blogging but I do plan on posting an image a day. Hope you can join me on my trip and I will tell you all about it on my return.

Scotland ....
This weekend we will be heading off to a Scottish highland retreat. A loch side cottage complete with wood burning stove and antlers on the wall. I am so excited as it's been snowing there for the past few days and should start our festive holiday season beautifully. If you have not had the chance to visit Scotland it's a must for your bucket list. Its majestic, mythical, mystical, steeped in history, dotted with ancient castles and monuments amongst it's verdant landscape, surrounded by a magnificent coastline, and the people are warm and friendly.
We are planning a fully packed week so not much time for blogging but I do plan on posting an image a day. Hope you can join me on my trip and I will tell you all about it on my return.

Have a fantastic trip, Di! I've not been to Scotland, so I'll be looking forward to your daily photos. Many thanks! Enjoy ~
ReplyDeleteWarmly,
Loi
You must put it on your lst Loi. It's ery stylish, all that tartan and heather. They really know how to use their local produce too, I would say better than any other part of the UK. I'm looking forward to a venison stew and some Haggis!

Julie x
Hi Julie,
DeleteI think we might try to do this on or way home. Although its probably a little to Far East when you have to drive almost the full length of the UK. We get on that M6 and keep going. I have heard is wonderful and will get there one of these days.

ReplyDeleteThanks Deborah,
DeleteIt it so beautiful. I'm here in Wales which I have always thought is beautiful, but when I get up to those highlands I feel totally at home. You must visit one day.

I once missed going on a trip to Scotland and have always regretted it. All that scenery and tradition. But we'll get to enjoy it through your photos.

Never live with regrets, it's not too late to visit, just click your heels together three times and sat "there's no place like Scotland". :-)
DeleteEnjoy the trip!

No antlers on the walls but there's a fire in the wood stove and it's warm and cozy here on the farm. I'm hoping to get to Scotland and Ireland next year, God willing.
ReplyDeleteHope you make it, as you say Gods willing! Your cosy fire is something I dream of :-)

Oh yes, yes, yes! Looking forward to it Di!
ReplyDeleteHi Robyn,
DeleteAll packed and ready. Megan and the boyfriend are dog sitting and were off first thing in the morning. A brief stopover for a night in the Lake District and then Scotland. It's about a 10 hour drive altogether so we always stop on the way. Gone are the days when I want to drive for 10 hours straight!

It sounds majestic but I'll happily take your word for it rather than experience the cold for myself. I look forward to seeing it through your eyes. Have a great time.
ReplyDeleteCome on you wimp, put your vest on, wrap up warm and join us :-)

Scotland in the winter? It may look wonderful in pictures, but the reality is bloody cold and wet. Why do you think we invented whisky?
ReplyDeleteBut if you must, have a lovely time, and remember to wear your winter woolies.
Dearest Di,
ReplyDeleteAll I can say is “Are we there yet Are we there yet? How much longer? Are we there yet? Oh Di, how much I am envying you, happy for you but still envious (giggle). Hope you guys have a spectacular time and I look forward to seeing all pictures you wish to post. – gary
