Scotland - Day One ....

An overnight stop in Cumbria on our long 10 hour drive to Scotland found us staying at the Pheasant Inn, Bassenthwaite.  Beautiful surroundings, a warm welcome, great food and all the little extras which make a country inn an excellent home from home, including a bottle of bubbly on ice in our room. I found it through my new favourite website "Secret Escapes".

All decked out for Christmas, our stay at the Pheasant Inn was a perfect start to our week away, and highly recommended.
